P3M lost as fire hits building in Ermita

MANILA – An estimated P3 million worth of properties was damaged after a two-storey commercial building at Ermita, Manila caught on fire on Sunday.

According to building administrator Narcisco Tuason, the fire began to spread from the office of Bob Cat Philippines at the second floor of the JMBM Building.

Tuason said they saw smoke coming out from the ceiling, but were not able to immediately open the office.

The fire immediately spread to other establishment on the second floor of the building, as well to the 20 others on the ground floor.

Some of these establishments include a Union Bank branch, a money changer, a remittance center and a travel agency.

It reached the third alarm before it was put out at noon.
