MANILA, Philippines - Police on Wednesday are on the lookout for a forklift operator after he accidentally ran over a 54-year-old man in Quezon City.

Police said Elifemio Barbara was about to discard used paper in Carpel Compound, Barangay Payatas when a forklift driven by a certain Abe suddenly backed up and ran over him around 8 a.m.

Barbara was rushed to hospital where he died. The suspect fled after the incident.

Authorities said they will subpoena Carpel Environment Corporation to produce the suspect. They added that the forklift operator is facing charges of reckless imprudence resulting in homicide.
