Top business taxpayers of Barangay Scout Triangle recognized

MANILA – ABS-CBN Corp. was recognized as the top business taxpayer in 2013 of Barangay Scout Triangle, Quezon City.

Barangay Scout Triangle held its awarding ceremony on Tuesday for their top 10 business taxpayers of 2013 and partners in service.

Receiving the award for ABS-CBN for paying a total of P495,800.00 in taxes were Corporate Communications Division Officer-In-Charge Kane Choa and Finance Division Quality Assurance Officer for Tax Management Geraldine De Guzman.

On 2nd and 3rd places respectively are GMA Network Inc. with P401,500.00 and Future Point Plaza with P109,500.00,.

Listed below are the top 10 business taxpayers in 2013 of Barangay Scout Triangle, Q.C:

Commemorative plaques were also awarded to Barangay Scout Triangle's partners in service, including East Avenue Medical Center, Manila Water Co., Inc., and Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish Church, among others.

Stepping in as representative of Quezon City Vice Mayor Josefina Belmonte was Councilor Vincent Belmonte, who commended the partnership between the private sector and the local government of Quezon City.

“Nagpapasalamat ako sa magandang partnership ng lungsod ng Quezon City at private sector...Tayo po ay may pananagutan [bilang mga] stakeholder na [siguraduhin ang] magandang kinabukasan ng ating mga [ka-barangay],” he said.

The current projects of the barangay were presented, including its expansion plans and improvements.

Barangay Captain Larry Handayan said he is glad they were able to successfully translate the taxes received to workable projects, and hopes to continue its good service to the community.

“Hindi po natin magagawa ito kung hindi sa tulong niyo sa barangay. [Ito] ay para maibalik ang lahat ng binabayad niyo dito sa barangay at sa tao,” he said.
