MANILA – The camp of Quezon City assistant prosecutor Philip Dela Rosa denied on Tuesday that he is involved in a sex video scandal with an alleged mistress.

Dela Rosa’s lawyer, Modesto Ticman Jr., said his client is innocent of the charges.

"He's denying the video. He's not the one in the video," Ticman said.

Ticman said Dela Rosa’s explanation would be included in the counter-affidavit to be submitted in the next hearing scheduled on March 1.

Dela Rosa is facing charges of grave coercion, grave threats and violation of Republic Act 9262 (Anti-Violence Against Women and Their Children Act) filed by his wife, physician Aimee Dela Rosa.

Dela Rosa is being accused of recording a sexual act with his alleged mistress.

The 36-minute-long video, which was posted in a pornographic website, allegedly shows the man deliberately recording the act through a laptop camera.

Dela Rosa’s wife attended the preliminary investigation and affirmed her allegations against her husband.

"It's very obvious in the video--it was him and his other woman. So let's just wait for the judgment of the fiscal," she said after the hearing.

She said the counter-complaint for voyeurism filed against her proves that it was indeed her husband who was in the video.

She added that Dela Rosa’s absence in the hearing is “a sign of fear.”

Meanwhile, another counter-complaint for robbery was filed by Dela Rosa against his wife for allegedly stealing his car.

Dela Rosa’s wife, however, denied the robbery charge.

"I don't think that's robbery. I bought that car, and I just gave it to him. He knows that. It's in my name,” she said.
