Jeep turns on its side; 11 hurt
MANILA – Eleven passengers were injured after a passenger jeepney turned on its side at the corner of Roxas Boulevard and Airport Road in Parañaque City on Wednesday.
Among those injured was the jeepney’s driver, Solomon Loag.
Loag said the jeep was clipped on the side by a mini-Elf truck, causing it to lose control and hit the center island.
The impact also caused the two front tires of the jeep to fly off.
Loag, however, said he failed to get the truck’s plate number.
A rescue team from the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) immediately responded to the scene after incident.
Eight of the injured passengers were rushed to the San Juan De Dios Hospital.
An investigations is ongoing to determine if Loag was speeding. -- Report from Dennis Datu, dzMM
