MANILA – Temperatures in Metro Manila continued to drop below the 20 degrees Celsius territory, but the state weather bureau said the capital and areas affected by the northeast monsoon (amihan) will soon feel the heat.

PAGASA forecaster Connie Rose Dadivas told ABS-CBNnews.com that the temperature in Metro Manila dropped to 19 degrees Celsius at 5 a.m. on Tuesday.

Dadivas said temperature in the capital dropped to its lowest last Saturday at 20.8 degrees Celsius; 19.6 degrees Celsius on Sunday; and 19.5 degrees Celsius on Monday.

Dadivas said the cold weather may soon be gone by the end of February.

The coldest temperature in Metro Manila so far this year was recorded last January 26 at 15.8 degrees Celsius.
Summer capital Baguio City recorded its lowest temperature this season last January 19 at 8.1 degrees Celsius.

Meanwhile, PAGASA said the provinces of Quezon and Aurora will experience cloudy skies with light rains.

Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon and Visayas will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains.

Mindanao will be partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rains or thunderstorms.

Moderate to strong winds blowing from the northeast will prevail throughout the archipelago and the coastal waters will be moderate to rough, PAGASA said.
