MANILA - Dressed up as comic book superheroes, members of environmental group Greenpeace held a protest march at the Commission on Elections to make sure environmental concerns become a key election issue this year.
The group unveiled its "Berde Ka Ba?" initiative, which monitors the senatorial candidates' stand on environmental issues.
Among the issues they will watch are budget appropriations for the Solid Waste Management Act, ratification of the Basel Ban Amendment, enacting a public right-to-know policy on pollution, enacting a national plastic bag program, enacting laws that would eliminate toxics in consumer products and enacting a law on energy efficiency.
