PH hotel used as drug, prostitution den
MANILA – The Caloocan police anti-illegal drug group on Tuesday raided the Venus Hotel located at Second Avenue, which has allegedly been transformed into a prostitution and drug den.
Police said the city government had received information that the hotel is being used by customers as a drug and prostitution den. Three persons – a bellboy, a customer and a suspected drug dealer -- were arrested during the raid.
The customer, identified as John, told police that they pay the hotel for “extra services,” which include a paid sex worker and some drugs.
A room can accommodate as much as three people, according to John.
"Magbabayad lang, sila na ang bahala sa babae,” he said.
The suspected drug dealer, meanwhile, told police: “Minsan lang po pag kailangan ng panggatas."
PO1 Kenneth Geronimo, duty desk at the Caloocan police, said the area is known for illegal drug activities.
"Nagbebenta at pwestuhan, nagpapabyahe sila ng shabu," he said.
The owner of the hotel, meantime, denied knowing about the illegal activities happening in the hotel.
The city government has ordered the closure of the hotel, after discovering that its business permit had expired in 2007.
