MANILA - Around 300 residents living near a creek in Maguyam, Silang, Cavite, complained  that the almost-crystal clear water in their creek turned red yesterday.

They believe the bloody-colored fluid came from a factory on the upper part of the creek where the waste materials of the factories are being spilled out.

Aside from the change in the water's color, residents complained of the pungent, foul odor from the creek. One resident living near the creek said she is now suffering from diarrhea due to the foul odor.

Residents have signed a statement complaining about the bad smell coming from the creek.

Officials of the local environment office have arrived in the area to conduct an inspection.
