Man jumps in front of PNR train
MANILA -- A man allegedly tried to commit suicide by jumping in front of a train at the Philippine National Railways (PNR) in Bicutan, Taguig City on Friday.
PNR spokesperson Raul De Quiros said 26-year-old Anjo Barrientos sustained scratches on his face and arms after he was hit by the train.
De Quiros said it was fortunate that the train was still moving slowly since it had just left the terminal.
The parents of the victim said Barrientos had been drinking for some days after his girlfriend of seven years broke up with him.
The management of PNR, meanwhile, assured the victim's family that they will give financial assistance to Barrientos.
