Filipina held for bomb joke at NAIA
MANILA, Philippines - A Filipina returning to the country from Bahrain was taken into police custody for blurting out a bomb joke at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) early Saturday.
A radio dzMM report said Rosemarie Legaspi from Marinduque province had just gotten off Gulf Air flight 156 from Bahrain at 12:15 a.m., when she claimed that there was a bomb planted somewhere in the airplane.
The report said airport personnel were forced to hold the aircraft at a remote parking for a bomb check around 1:47 a.m. and was cleared to go after almost an hour.
It said that Legaspi was brought to the airport police's office at the NAIA Terminal 1, where she was placed under investigation.
The radio report did not mention if the bomb joke created panic among other passengers. The Gulf Air flight had 3 pilots, 9 crewmen and 261 passengers. With a report from Zeny Silva, radio dzMM
