MANILA, Philippines -  A 46-year-old woman was hospitalized before dawn Thursday after being sideswiped by an ice delivery truck in Barangay Masambong, Quezon City.

Initial reports said 46-year-old Lolita Lopez was texting on her cell phone on Del Monte Avenue when she was sideswiped by the truck around 4 a.m. The truck driver said he tried to avoid Lopez and even rammed the truck into a concrete post.

Lopez sustained a head wound after the accident and was immediately brought to hospital for medical treatment.

The driver of the truck was arrested after the incident.
