MANILA, Philippines - The Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA) on Tuesday said LRT lines 1 and 2 will suspend operations from the night of Holy Wednesday until Easter Sunday.
In an advisory, LRTA Spokesperson Hernando Cabrera said LRT 1 and 2 will be closed from March 27 at 8 p.m. to March 31.
The LRT will undergo maintenance checks during the said dates.
Operations will resume on April 1 at 5 a.m.
LRTA officer-in-charge Emerson Benitez said "maintenance work will involve replacement of rails and catenary wires as well as cleaning and check-up of all LRT facilities, systems and equipment."
LRT 1 runs from Baclaran in Pasay City to Roosevelt in Quezon City while LRT 2 stretches from Recto in Manila to Santolan in Pasig City.
