MRT halts operations, passengers walk to station

MANILA, Philippines - Passengers walked on the tracks of the Metro Rail Transit (MRT) Tuesday afternoon after trips were suspended due to technical difficulties.

The train's passengers were directed to get off the train between Taft and Magallanes stations of the MRT's southbound lane after the train suffered from a technical glitch at around 3 p.m.

As of posting, authorities have yet to identify the cause of the glitch.

Commuters are temporarily allowed to board trips from Shaw Boulevard to North Avenue and vice versa only. -- Reports from Henry Atuelan, dzMM; TJ Manotoc, ABS-CBN News
