Lim, Atienza supporters clash; 3 hurt
MANILA, Philippines - Three people were hurt after supporters of Manila mayoralty bets Alfredo Lim and Lito Atienza clashed while pasting campaign posters in Pandacan district before dawn Tuesday.
Chief Inspector Rey Cocson, Pandacan Police Station's night supervisor, said the 2 volunteer groups clashed around 3 a.m. while pasting campaign posters of the 2 mayoralty candidates along Quirino Avenue.
Cocson said 2 of those hurt were Roldan de Guzman and Perlito Paler, supporters of Lim and Atienza, respectively. He said another Lim supporter, whose name was not immediately available, was also hurt.
De Guzman told ABS-CBN News that they were busy pasting Lim's posters when Atienza's supporters started throwing rocks at them.
Paler, however, said that it was the camp of Lim's supporters that started the violent confrontation.
"Nagulat na lang kami na iyong isa naglabas ng baril tapos nagpaputok na (We were shocked when one of them pulled out a gun and fired)," Paler told ABS-CBN News.
Cocson said they have yet to determine who really started the fight. He said they are expecting both camps to file counter charges. -- Report from Niko Baua, ABS-CBN News

Mga kaibigan ko na Iglesia ni Kristo, si Mayor Atienza ang inyong pinagkatiwalaan pero ang inyong boto ay di man lumabas sa PCOS. Pagdasal natin na si MAYOR ATIENZA ay palarin na makapag- manual count para maibsan at malabanan ang mga kalokohan sa pandaraya ginawa ni Alfredo Lim.

Uncivilized Society?
Only in the uncivilized society that people would kill one another, esp. during the election campaign.
I think, and you will hate me for this, our people have not yet really been able to understand what a civilized society is, how government should function, how people should react or do their part in a society.
Every election, there is always death and mayhem. Are you proud of that? Have we really matured? Are we really capable of being considered as part of a civilized society?
Election is not about brawling, shooting or killing one another!
Election is putting the right person to lead us. If we are thought to die to a candidate just to put him in the post, or kill on behalf of that candidate, then we are serving the Devil, and not of the righteous Almighty God.
Simply, we are such as stupid people of a divided nation because we are so blinded by our leaders to the point that we kill one another, to divide one another, etc. What for? Is that what we all want in life as a society?
Our forebears fought for our independence and democracy. How we have both, but we don't know how to exercise these. Looks like our forebears have failed miserably because we are still immature bunch of creation.
Sorry to say that but we've never learned!

mga bading ang naglalagay ng mga posters ni MAyor Lito Atienza kaya naman nakakapagtaka na sila mag gagawa ng gulo!
anyway kausap ko mga lolo at pati mga bata- atienza ang karamihan sa manila at handa silang ilaban ang karapatan nila na magdikit ng posters ni MAYOR LITO ATIENZA!
yun mga supporters kasi ni ALfrdio LIM ay puro bayaran at nakatutok ang baril sa mga likod kaya ganyan sila lumaban para kay LIM ngunit ang totooo ang dami ng lumipat kay atienza..

Mga kababayan ko na umaasa ng mabago pa ang takbo ng ating inang bayan ng Pilipinas....Sana po ay maging alerto tayo at mapagmatyag sa mga pangyayari sa ating lipunan...kung saan man tayo nakatira o napadpad sa mundong ito ay dapat nating ipadama, ikalat at ipamalita sa lahat lahat ang taong karapat dapat na mamuno sa ating mahal na Pilipinas.
Hindi pa huli ang lahat kahit na huli siya sa mga survey at political ads...sige na at samahan niyo po ako na sagipin ang ating Pilipinas...Iboto natin si GILBERT "GIBO" TEODORO...siya lang ang my kakayahan na mamuno ng marangal at tapat sa ating bayan. Siya lang ang pwede kong ipagmayabang at ipagsigawan dito sa ibang bansa at magiging proud ako bilang Pilipino dahil sa kanya dahil taglay niya nag pang-international na katalinuhan at kagalingan na hindi nawawala ang pagkatotoong dugo ng Pilipino.
