Korean businesswoman found dead in car
MANILA, Philippines -- A Korean businesswoman was found dead at the backseat of her car in Quezon City on Saturday.
The fatality, identified as Kim Young Sook (who also used the name Diane), was wearing sando-blouse and mini-skirt when found.
Her vehicle was parked right in front of her house.
Her maid Cecille Sedillo suspected that something was wrong when her employer did not return to the house. She was surprised to see her boss slumped at the back seat of the car.
“Ginawa ng kapitbahay, binasag ang bintana ng kotse para ma-save pa. Nakita naming naka-handusay na siya,” she said.
Sedillo said the last time she saw her employer alive was around 11 p.m. Friday night when Kim went out with another Korean friend who frequently stays in their house. She said the Korean friend returned to the house without Kim.
Kim was reportedly under stress days before the opening her restaurant next week. She also had family problems. She and her Korean husband recently divorced.
Close friends expressed doubts Kim’s death was caused by stress-related illnesses.
“Kung inatake siya, bakit nasa backseat siya?” said Caloy Agunto.
Investigators suspect foul play.
The Quezon City Police Department-Scene of the Crime Operations (QCPD-SOCO) said Kim’s cellphone, jewelry and handbag were missing.
Police said there were also other pieces of evidence which indicate the victim was not alone shortly before she died.
“May maiikling buhok na hindi match sa biktima na nakita sa driver’s seat… kita rin ang undies [underwear], tinitignan [namin] kung may sexual intercourse,” said Senior Inspector Elizalde Odo, team leader of the QCPD SOCO Team. -- With a report from Maricar Bautista, ABS-CBN News
