MANILA -- Two female employees of an online gaming company were fired from their jobs allegedly because of their "immoral relationship."

In an interview with dzMM's "Aksyon Ngayon" on Thursday, "Angel" and "Rowena" narrated how Strong City Inc. terminated them from work.

According to them, they were pulled out of work by their superior last February 19.

Their boss allegedly told them that their relationship with the company's owner is not harmonious, and that they need to submit resignation letters on the same night.

They refused to resign, but were slapped preventive suspension the following day.

They said the company did not give any valid reason why they were suspended.

One of the women had been working in the company for 5 years, while the other was employed for 2 and a half years.

They were asked to attend a hearing on February 24.

However, a lawyer advised them not to explain anything as the company did not give any valid reason for their suspension.

Angel and Rowena received termination letters on March 11.

They were fired for allegedly violating company rules against engaging in an "immoral and scandalous affair."

The company also called their relationship "illicit."

The two women believe that they were wrongfully terminated from work, and said they were not the only couple inside the company.

They added that there were no provisions on their contract saying that employees cannot have a relationship with a co-worker.

Atty. Elenita Cruz, executive clerk of court at the National Labor Relations Commission, advised Angel and Rowena to bring to their office all the documents that they received from their former employer to help in the investigation.

She added that companies can only terminate employees who are in a relationship if such provision is indeed part of the company's rules and regulations.

The legal division and human resources division of Strong City Incorporated has yet to give its side on the issue.
