New Skyway toll rates to take effect April 26
MANILA, Philippines – (UPDATE) Vacationers this Holy Week will be paying higher toll fees when they get back as the Toll Regulatory Board (TRB) approved the new rates for the Metro Manila Skyway.
Starting April 26, Class 1 or private vehicles taking the elevated portion of Skyway from Makati to Alabang and vice versa will have to pay P147.
Class 2 vehicles such as buses will have to pay P294, while Class 3, including trucks, will be charged P441.
For Class 1 vehicles taking the “at grade” portion or the Skyway road below, toll from Magallanes to Alabang will increase to P106 from the current P65.
TRB said the new rates are lower than the proposed rates submitted by the Skyway investor, Citra Metro Manila Tollways Corp.
Construction along Skyway has been completed except for some minor improvements like asphalting, which is causing traffic to slow down.
Motorists should expect this to go on for another 2 to 3 months since CMMTC will also be removing the temporary ramps along Bicutan to Sucat.

HIGHWAY ROBBERY
This is highway robbery (pun intended) plain and simple. After raising the toll rates three-folds from Alabang to Calamba, now this! What did they do at the Skyway at-grade to justify the increase? Fix the drainage system? E bakit at least 4 na bahang portion nadaanan namin nung umulan ng malakas just last month? Grabe tong 2 toll systems na to sa SLEX, after inconveniencing motorists for a number of years while constructing their respective portions of the SLEX, causing humongous traffics, man-hours lost, stress, fuel wastage and vehicle depreciation, this is what they give us, prohibitive toll fees? Mahiya naman kayo, this is greed in naked form. Won't I see anybody raising a howl over this injustice? I'm not expecting anything though from this inutile administration.
