MANILA (UPDATED) – A policeman died while his wife was wounded after their car was strafed by unidentified suspects in Mandaluyong City on Wednesday morning.
The slain policeman, an intelligence officer from Bataan Police, was on board a black Toyota Altis with his wife when they were fired upon by an undetermined number of suspects at the corner of Talumpong Street and Barangka Drive in Barangay Malamig.
The car's windshield and passenger side window were riddled with bullets.
The victims' car has a Philippine National Police Academy (PNPA) commemorative plate in front.
A traffic enforcer told dzMM that he saw a motorcycle fleeing right after the shooting incident. He said he did not see the actual incident, but heard several gunshots
