'Coffin' brought to PNoy's house
MANILA, Philippines - Militant groups and residents of Agham Road in Quezon City brought a makeshift coffin to the ancestral home of the Aquino family on Times Street Tuesday morning.
The protesters said the coffin symbolizes the type of housing program launched by President Aquino for the poor. They set fire to the makeshift coffin during the protest.
Police used barricades to block the protesters from approaching the President's house.
The group also condemned the death of an illegal settler during the demolition of illegal market stalls in Silverio Compound in Parañaque City Monday.
They said the President has remained quiet about the demolition despite the violence that occurred. Report by Doland Castro, ABS-CBN News
