Metro Manila temperature hits 36.6C
MANILA, Philippines - It continues to be one hot, sizzling summer in Metro Manila, as the temperature in the metropolis reached 36.6 degrees Celsius on Monday, weather bureau PAGASA said.
The temperature reading, which was made at around 2 p.m., is the highest temperature for the metropolis this year.
PAGASA sad the heat is still brought by the effects of a high pressure ridge over Luzon.
The weather bureau expects temperatures to dip in May, when the average temperature is pegged at 34.6 degrees Celsius, compared to an average of 34.9 degrees Celsius in April.
Meanwhile, PAGASA predicted a perfect beach weather for the May 1 holiday, with a very slim chance for drizzle in Tuguegarao, Laoag, Baguio, Baler, Puerto Galera and Puerto Princesa.
Much of Mindanao will still have thick cloud cover with scattered showers due to a low pressure area that was last spotted 70 kilometers west of Davao City.
That means rains will dampen the region, especially Davao, Cagayan de Oro, Cotabato, Zamboanga and General Santos City.
Visayas will have sunny weather with mostly clear skies and a slight chance for isolated showers in Cebu, Bacolod and Boracay. - with ANC
