200 families lose homes in QC fire
MANILA, Philippines (UPDATED) -- Around 200 families lost their homes after fire gutted a residential area in Sitio Militar, Barangay Bahay Toro in Project 8, Quezon City Tuesday morning.
Authorities said the blaze started from a rental house at around 9:25 a.m.
It reached the fifth alarm before it was declared out at 11:15 a.m.
Three residents, identified as Jeremy Bactan, Kenneth Ross and Anthony Carvajal, were reported injured in the incident.
The cost of damage caused by the blaze was estimated at P2.5 to P3 million.
Authorities are still investigating if the fire was caused by illegal electric connections, a child playing with matches, or unattended cooking. -- Reports from Doland Castro, ABS-CBN News; Jake Morales, dzMM
