Eva Air plane makes emergency landing
MANILA, Philippines – A commercial Boeing 773 aircraft of Eva Air safely landed at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Wednesday afternoon after experiencing technical problems, an airport official said.
Joseph Agustin, officer-in-charge of the NAIA airport ground operations and safety division, told dzMM that the plane with flight number 226 was headed to Singapore from Taipei.
The plane’s crew requested to make an emergency landing in Manila at around 4:30 p.m. due to smoke inside the cabin.
Agustin said there were no reported injuries among the passengers and crew.
He said authorities have yet to determine the exact number of passengers on board the plane.
