Teen boy drowns in Tumana River
MANILA, Philippines – The body of a teenage boy who went missing in Tumana River Tuesday afternoon has been found.
Jenric Ventura, 16, drowned while swimming at a portion of the river at the boundary of San Mateo, Rizal and Barangay Bagong Silangan, Quezon City.
Ventura was accompanied by 10 other friends when the incident occurred.
According to the victim’s friends, Ventura was swimming at a shallow portion of the river when he was swept by strong waters.
Rescue teams searched for Ventura until the evening but were not able to find the boy.
Ventura’s body eventually surfaced at the portion of the river in Barangay Bagong Silangan. – report from Dennis Datu, dzMM
