Bank exec dies in Manila ambush
MANILA – A bank manager died in an ambush incident in Manila Thursday morning.
The victim, 43-year-old Rosemarie Gatan, was on board her Mazda C7 when she was shot in the head by motorcycle-riding gunmen in front of the Manila Cosmopolitan Church along Taft Avenue at around 9 a.m.
A wounded Gatan managed to drive her car for about 200 meters before it finally hit a post near the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) headquarters.
The victim, a manager of the Bank of the Philippine Islands – Taft-Padre Faura branch, succumbed to her wounds at the Medical Center Manila, according to her godfather, Andres Mendoza.
Police have yet to determine the motive for the killing. – report from Noel Alamar, dzMM
