Bomb scare in Abu Sayyaf man's home
MANILA --A bomb scare gripped the compound where alleged Abu Sayyaf Group (ASG) commander Khair Mundos lived after a bomb-sniffing dog sat near the rebel's laptop computer on Thursday.
Mundos was arrested in Barangay San Dionisio, Parañaque City Wednesday morning.
Authorities inspected his apartment in Holy Family Compound, also in Barangay San Dionisio.
Residents inside the compound were advised to leave after a bomb-sniffing dog stayed near Mundos' laptop computer.
However, there were no bombs found inside the apartment.
Aside from being a top official and financier of the Abu Sayyaf Group, Mundos is also allegedly a Jemaah Islamiya-trained bomb expert.
Authorities are currently in possession of Mundos' laptop computer, which they believe will yield information on his connection with the al-Qaeda and how the terrorist group funds the ASG. -- report from Edwin Sevidal, DZMM
