Signal No.1 hoisted in Metro Manila due to 'Feria'

MANILA - Preschoolers in Metro Manila will have no classes on Wednesday after weather bureau PAGASA hoisted Storm Signal No. 1 over the National Capital Region due to tropical storm Feria.

Weather forecasters said the storm has made landfall in Borongan, Eastern Samar Tuesday afternoon and is moving at a west northwest direction at 22 kph.  They said the storm is forecast to reach 70 km southwest of Metro Manila by Wednesday afternoon.

PAGASA director Prisco Nilo said he is leaving it up to the Department of Education to suspend classes if weather conditions worsen.
