Truck helper impaled on MMDA pink fence

A cargo helper was accidentally impaled by a steel pipe when their truck hit a row of pink fences erected by the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) along EDSA-Connecticut in Quezon City early Friday morning.
A TV Patrol World report said the pipe pierced through the right side of the man's torso. Traffic police said the truck driver immediately escaped after the accident.
"Tumakas nga po iyan driver... Malamang nanonood ng TV kasi may TV rito [sa truck]. So malamang iyon nga nalingat at naaksidente," said the traffic policeman.
The rescue team had to use a hydraulic cutter to extract the victim from the truck.
The victim was immediately taken to the nearest hospital for emergency treatment. Doland Castro, ABS-CBN News
