Muntinlupa City Rep. Ruffy Biazon confirmed Friday that his 17-year-old nephew has tested positive for influenza A(H1N1) virus.

Biazon said his nephew is a student of De La Salle-College of St. Benilde College. He, however, did not disclose if his nephew caught the virus at the school.

He said his son also had flu-like illness, but tested negative for the new virus.

Meanwhile, reports on Thursday said that a female employee of the graft court Sandiganbayan has also been infected with the virus.

Employees at the graft court said the female employee has been asked to go on a week-long quarantine. The patient is reportedly a lawyer at the court's Fifth Division.

As of July 1, the Philippines has 1,709 confirmed cases of A(H1N1).

The Department of Health said 86 percent or 1,485 of the total number of confirmed cases have fully recovered.
