Queen of Spain visits UST
MANILA, Philippines - The University of Santo Tomas had a fiesta-like atmosphere as its community welcomed the visiting Queen Sofia of Spain.
Queen Sofia arrived at the campus grounds at 10 a.m. where she was greeted by flag-waving students, teachers and school officials.
Security was tight.
The Queen offered flowers to the statue of UST founder Miguel de Benevidez then met with school officials inside the main building.
After the UST visit, the Queen and her entourage went to the National Musem for private cocktails with selected VIPs.
The Queen last visited UST in 1974, with her husband, King Juan Carlos.
