MANILA, Philippines - Policemen on Thursday night arrested an 18-year-old suspected drug pusher, whose buyers are mostly students in the university belt area in Manila.

Police Officer 3 Alain Sigua of the Manila Police District-Sampaloc station said the suspect, Rocky Boy Jerusalem, is one of the most known marijuana pusher in the area, particularly operating along M. Dela Fuente Street.

Sigua said he caught Jerusalem along M. Dela Fuente Street after a transaction with university belt students.

"Nakita namin iyan na umiihi. Nang lapitan ko tumakbo. Nakuhanan ko siya ng tea bags ng marijuana," Sigua told ABS-CBN News.

The police officer said he recovered 13 tea bags of marijuana from Jerusalem, who admitted selling each tea bag to his customers at P50.

Sigua admitted that it took them time to arrest Jerusalem. He said that each time the suspect sells marijuana to his customers, concerned citizens report the transaction to them.

"Noon pa sinasabi sa amin na may nagtitinda ng marijuana sa M. Dela Fuente. Nagku-conduct kami ng surveillance hindi namin makuha ang tao na iyan," he said.

The suspect admitted to ABS-CBN News in a brief interview that he started pushing marijuana last year. He said he gets the illegal drugs from a source in Tondo district.

Sigua said follow up operations are being conducted for the arrest of Jerusalem's source. – Report from Francis Faulve, ABS-CBN News
