MANILA, Philippines – Taguig City Mayor Lani Cayetano rewarded the 2 honest street sweepers who returned cash that they discovered inside a garbage bin in the Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP) compound in Lower Bicutan.

Cayetano gave Marilyn Campos and Analyn Aquino P5,000 each and promised to give them better-paying jobs at the city government.

Campos and Aquino had returned P95,000 to engineer Dante Pedigro, who had accidentally thrown the money away.

In a press statement, Cayetano said it was fitting to reward Campos and Aquino who set an example for other government employees.

"We want all government workers to emulate the good example shown by Marilyn (Campos) and Analyn (Aquino), which is to exercise the will to do good in all instance, especially in a situation when no one is watching," Cayetano said.

Campos and Aquino were honored during the flag-raising ceremony last Monday at the Taguig City Hall quadrangle.
