MANILA, Philippines – A Manila traffic enforcer filed charges against an amateur mixed martial arts fighter for choking him after the latter was cited for a traffic violation.

Renan Razon of the Manila Traffic Parking Bureau (MTPB) filed physical injury charges against Toledo Gabriel Villegas before the General Assignment Section of the Manila Police District.

Razon said the incident happened around 10 a.m. Friday in front of the Manila City Hall.

Villegas was riding a Mitsubishi Wagon with some companions when they were criticized by Razon for blocking the front area of the city hall.

The 20-year-old suspect allegedly got out of the vehicle just as the car’s driver was handing over his license to the enforcer.

Villegas allegedly confronted the enforcer, which led to a heated argument. Other enforcers pacified the 2 and urged Villegas to file a complaint before the office of the MTPB.

However, Villegas allegedly choked Renan while they were going up to the said office on the 3rd floor of the City Hall. Villegas has denied Renan’s claims. Report from Maan Macapagal, ABS-CBN News
