Car theft gang leader Ivan Padilla killed in Makati

MANILA, Philippines (UPDATE) – Ivan Padilla, leader of the notorious Padilla carnapping syndicate, was killed after a shootout with authorities in Makati City Monday morning.
Padilla was arrested by operatives of the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) Anti-Carnapping group at 3 a.m. after authorities received a tip that Padilla was poised to strike again in Makati.
Padilla was wounded after engaging arresting agents in an encounter. Police said Padilla opened fire after refusing to alight from his Toyota Vios.
The car theft gang leader was then taken to the Ospital ng Makati for treatment where he died.
Last week, two members of the Padilla group were arrested following the recovery of the vehicles of former Ambassador Roberto Romulo and the father of actor Derek Ramsay.
They were Dale Alemagno and Glen del Castillo. – With reports from ANC and Gretchen Malalad, ABS-CBN News

Gangs of thieves
I find it very unusual why media is giving airtime to the grievances of the families of these notorious gang of theives.
There are many victims here in Baranggay Palanan, Makati, who for years have been terrorized and been asking for action from authorities, many have chosen to keep quiet, and now that these gangs been neutralized, gang leaders are being imaged as modern day Robin Hoods who steal from the rich and help the poor.
These groups don't deserve sympathy. These are professionals of a different breed they also prey on middle income hardworking families.
The families of these thieves should also be investigated and punished, for years they have connived and
lavished on stolen property and personal belongings of others.
Mothers instinctly protect their young, but if we condition the minds of our audiences that authorities are always abusive, what will become of peace and order?
If I had my way I would let these thieves live with chopped-off arms, a lifetime of punishment.

My order na ngayon kapag gantong mga tao, di na dapat pinapa-abot ng hospital kasi my chance pang gumaling at umulit uli sa ginagawa nila.. Katulad nung hold in tandem gang na nanghold up ng seaman at nahuli recently, hindi na dapat binubuhay talaga ang mga taong ganun kasi my chance lang na makalaya sila at uulit uli sa mga ginagawa nila.. =)
Frightening images fascinate people
Its amazing how frightening images, situations, scenarios fascinate people. If you see a dying person on the street, everyone wants to get a glimps of him, but if someone wins the Noble Prize, few people care. The good thing about this news is that the cops finally found the carjacker, the bad news is that he had to die for it, if only Ivan had surrendered faithfully none of this should ever happen.

Do they really have to shove a microphone to the face of someone who is bleeding profusely and show it on TV for all the world to see? Hindi ba dapat naka-police line yan dahil delikado, tapos may medical emergency? Nakakasira ng araw na makita ang isang reporter na mas inuuna pang ipuwesto ang sarili para makapag-interview kaysa bigyang daan ang pagdadala ng sugatan sa ospital, maski masamang tao pa 'yan. In bad taste talaga!!!
Good riddance
I say its a job well done to our law enforcements for getting rid a menace. Kill some more so that our streets will get a little safer. Kudos!

Huwag kang kumain ng masarap ng pagkaing pilipino! Huwag kang tumingin sa mga tanawin ng Pilipinas. Mabuti pa sa iyo ang mga turistang nagmamahal sa aming bansa..... Traidor ka sa saring bayan! PAKSHIT KA!

Di ko pinag kakaila na ako ay isang Pinoy. Pero ang pinupunto ko, bakit di mabawasan ang mga petty crimes diyan? Lagi na lang feedback na naririnig ko, ay di ka na makalakad ng pustora. Yung mga nakikita ko sa tv patrol, xxx at iba pang programa. Ano tawag don? Anong gusto mong gawin ko, mahalin ko yung mga ganong salot sa lipunan? BOBO!!!

Magpakatotoo ka namang Pinoy at huwag plastic. Maari ka naman pumorma kung gusto mo. Pero huwag mo naman isipin na snatch lang sunglass at wristwatch mo patay agad ang snatcher. Dami kasi dahilan ang tao..baka type lang ang pangporma mo..o..baka gutom lang ang pamilya ng snatcher. Pamilya snatcher di naman salot. Si Winona Ryder nga ng America shoplifter kahit may pera kaya marami dahilan ang pagnakaw. Seguro isa rin dahilan bobo nga ano?
