PAGASA: 'Kiko' to bring rains in MM till Saturday

MANILA - Typhoon Kiko (international codename Morakot) will continue to bring heavy rains to Metro Manila and parts of Western Visayas till Saturday, weather bureau PAGASA said Thursday.

 PAGASA deputy administrator for operations Nathaniel Cruz said the typhoon is moving in a westward direction towards Taiwan and will be out of the country by the weekend.

He said Storm Signal No. 1 remains hoisted in Batanes, Babuyan and Calayan Group of Islands.

The Department of Education on Thursday canceled classes in parts of Metro Manila while the Senate and the House of Representatives suspended work in the afternoon due to heavy rains and floods.
