Police arrested three people after taking cash from a "drugged" Korean national in Quezon City, Friday.
Superintendent Marcelino Pedroso, chief of the Quezon City police's intelligence operations unit, identified the suspects as Diana Santos, Michael Magtoto and Marlon Cruz.
Pedroso said Korean national Kim Jeong was walking around Luneta Park in Manila when she was approached by the three suspects, posing as tour guides.
After escorting the Korean around the park, the three suspects asked the foreigner to come with them to a birthday party in Quezon City.
The police officer said that instead of bringing the Korean national to the supposed birthday party, the suspects brought her to a videoke bar.
He said the suspects were able to convince Kim Jeong to drink a half glass of beer, which was mixed with Ativan.
The Korean national fell asleep minutes after drinking the beer. Ativan belongs to a group of drugs called benzodiazepines used to treat anxiety disorders.
Pedroso said the suspects hauled the victim to a cab and took cash from her bag, which include 3,000 Korean won and P1,000.
The suspects were nabbed after a concerned citizen reported the crime to police, the officer said.
