National Park Development Executive Director Juliet Villegas said torrential rains and floods left an estimated P5 million in damage to the historic park.
Villegas said knee-high floods mixed with mud affected some 5 hectares of the park.
She said the Quirino Grandstand's roof sustained damage at the height of the rains.
She said it would take anywhere from a week to a whole month to restore the park to its former beauty.
The park is home to the bronze and granite Rizal monument, which is among the most famous sculptural landmarks in the country. Report by Noel Alamar, radio dzMM
