1 dead, 8 hurt in 10-vehicle collision along C5
MANILA - A man died while eight others were wounded in a collision involving 10 vehicles along C5 road in Taguig before dawn on Friday.
The fatality, who has yet to be identified, was believed to be between 20 to 25 years old.
The man's body was halved after he was thrown off a passenger jeepney and then got hit by a 16-wheeler truck.
Involved in the collision were three trucks, three jeepneys, two cars, an Asian Utility Vehicle (AUV) and a police mobile.
Dario Aquino, a driver of one of the jeepneys, told radio dzMM that two trucks were racing against each other when they suddenly slammed into a jeepney.
One of the injured victims, jeepney conductor Paul Bautista, sustained leg fractures in the incident. He was rushed to Rizal Medical Center.
The other victims, who only sustained minor injuries, were brought to Taguig-Pateros General Hospital.
