Carabuena pleads 'not guilty' to assault charges
MANILA, Philippines – Robert Carabuena, a man accused of direct assault for slapping a traffic enforcer, entered a not guilty plea almost a year after the incident occurred.
Carabuena was arraigned yesterday in a hearing at the Quezon City Metropolitan Trial Court Branch 42. Judge Juris Callanta presided over the hearing.
Traffic Constable Saturnino Fabros accused Carabuena of assault, after a video which showed Carabuena berating Fabros went viral online.
Carabuena’s lawyers tried to have the arraignment postponed, but it pushed through as the judge said it had repeatedly been rescheduled in the past.
The hearing for Carabuena’s case is set on November 11. – From a DZMM report
