No classes in QC up to high school, and UP Diliman
MANILA - Mayor Herbert Bautista announced on Thursday at past 3 a.m. the suspension of classes from pre-school to high school in both public and private schools in Quezon City.
Bautista told radio DZMM he decided to suspend classes after PAGASA raised the rainfall alert from yellow to orange at 1:30 a.m.
PAGASA said "heavy to intense rainfall was observed over CAMANAVA, Manila, Quezon City, Marikina, Bataan and portions of Rizal for the past 3 hours and most likely to continue for the next 3 hours."
With respect to colleges and universities in the city, Bautista said this is up to the Commission on Higher Education.
However, employees of the city government have work on Thursday, he added.
UP Diliman Chancellor Caesar Saloma also suspended classes in all levels in the Diliman campus due to the big number of students affected by floods. -- with a report from Zandro Ochona, DZMM
