Taguig under a state of calamity
MANILA – The city of Taguig has been placed under a state of calamity due to floods triggered by Maring-enhanced monsoon rains.
The city council passed the resolution to fast track the relief operation for the flood victims.
More than 3,000 families or 14,000 individuals had to flee their homes at the height of the monsoon rains.
They were housed in 35 evacuation centers in the city.
Several provinces and cities in Metro Manila, including Parañaque, Muntinlupa, Pateros, Malabon, Pasay, Marikina and parts of Valenzuela, were also placed on states of calamity because of the floods. -- Report from Dennis Datu, dzMM
