MANILA - Parts of Metro Manila were flooded after a thunderstorm brought heavy rains across the metropolis Tuesday night.
The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) in a series of tweets, said the flooded areas include:
- EDSA Shaw Tunnel southbound
- EDSA Magallanes/Tramo
- EDSA Ayala intersection
- EDSA Ortigas
- EDSA A. De Jesus outerlane northbound
- EDSA MCU northbound
The MMDA said floodwaters on R. Papa reached waist-deep, as of posting.
The agency also urged motorists to be safe while driving during the thunderstorm
"Use proper signal lights during heavy rains. Don’t use hazard lights unnecessarily as it could confuse drivers behind you," the MMDA said.
State weather bureau PAGASA has raised public storm warning signal number 1 over 14 areas in the country due to tropical depression "Isang."
The storm, which has intensified, is expected to make landfall in northern Cagayan Wednesday.
