MANILA – A Guam-bound flight of United Airlines was forced to go back to the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 1 before dawn Wednesday due to a technical problem.

The NAIA Media Affairs Division said United Airlines flight UA-184 departed at 10:25 p.m. on Tuesday but landed back at the NAIA 1 at 2:51 a.m. Wednesday due to a technical problem.

All 125 passengers of the flight are safe. One of them, Alvin Lapuz, said the pilot informed them in the middle of the flight that they have to go back to Manila after the plane's right engine overheated.

Some of the passengers opted to stay in hotels while some rebooked or transferred to another flight. – report from Dennis Datu, dzMM
