Passenger shoots dead nagging bus dispatcher
An irritated passenger armed with a pistol shot and killed a nagging bus dispatcher at a transport terminal along EDSA in Pasay City before dawn Tuesday.
Witnesses told police that bus dispatcher Epifanio Ricarte, 44, had just came down from a Bobis bus liner at the Integrated Bus Terminal when a passenger shot him from behind with a .45 pistol.
Ricarte died on the spot with a single gunshot wound in the head as the shooter, a military-looking man, casually walked away from the bus terminal. The incident happened around 5 a.m.
Resty Mirano, a barker at the bus terminal, told radio dzMM that the unidentified passenger could have been irritated with Ricarte's insistence that he pay the fare first before "resting" inside the bus.
Mirano said Ricarte told the shooter, who had said he will pay the fare later, to get out of the bus. As the two were getting of the bus, the passenger pulled out a .45 pistol and shot Ricarte from the back.
Other witnesses told radio dzMM that the shooter's built and hair cut was military-like.
Police have yet to identify the assailant. With a report from Doland Castro, ABS-CBN News
