11 hurt in EDSA bus collision
MANILA – At least 11 passengers were wounded in a collision between two buses in Makati on Monday morning.
A Roval Bus Transport unit rear-ended a Golden Bee bus along the south-bound lane of EDSA-Estrella at around 7 a.m.
Most of the passengers of Roval Bus Transport sustained facial wounds after their heads bumped into the bus seats. They were brought to Ospital ng Makati for treatment.
The collision snarled traffic along EDSA during the morning rush hour, with the vehicle build-up reaching all the way to Cubao area.
As of posting, the road was already cleared of obstruction.
Meanwhile, Roval bus driver Paolo Eduardo Sitchon is now under the custody of authorities. He claimed he hit the Golden Bee bus because the latter suddenly stopped. He refused to give further statements upon the orders of the Roval Bus Transport management.
Sonny Borja, Golden Bee bus driver, for his part said he was dropping off passengers when his bus was rear-ended by the Roval bus. – report from Dennis Datu, dzMM
