MMDA puts improvements in Southwest Terminal
MANILA - The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) on Monday said it has instituted at least eight improvements at the Southwest Terminal including more TV screens, lamp posts, drinking fountain, and a covered walkway for commuters.
MMDA Chairman Francis Tolentino said they are also building more toilets for commuters and are also putting in place a lane for taxis.
The improvements cost around P24 million to P26 million.
Apart from these and in order to hasten the dispatch of buses, operators of the terminal use biometrics only once for provincial buses within the day.
Some commuters and drivers however say, these changes are not enough to speed up operations in the terminal.
