12-year-old girl escapes abductors in QC
MANILA -- A 12-year-old girl was able to escape from her abductors in Monte de Piedad, Barangay Kaunlaran in Cubao, Quezon City on Tuesday.
The girl, who was last seen by her mother talking to a woman outside their house at around 10 a.m. on Monday, was found walking in the streets by a barangay councilor at around 4 a.m. today.
The victim recalled that the woman who abducted her threatened her that something bad would happen to her mother if she refused to go with her.
She said they just walked the whole afternoon before she was brought to a house, where they were met by two more men and another woman.
The girl said she also saw other kidnap victims inside the house.
She recalled that she fell asleep shortly after she was asked to drink water which she believes contained sleeping pills.
She was already wearing a different set of clothes when she woke up, she said.
She said they again started to walk at around 10 p.m.
Fortunately, she was able to run away and escape after her abductor looked away.
According to PO3 Terebio Besa, desk officer of the Quezon City Police District Station 7, a syndicate which turns girls into sex slaves could have been behind the abduction. -- Reports from Jacque Manabat, ABS-CBN News; Jake Morales, dzMM
