Rains snarl traffic, cause floods in parts of Metro
MANILA – Sudden downpour on Tuesday night triggered floods in some parts of Metro Manila.
Gutter deep floods hit EDSA-Ortigas and EDSA-Shaw, stalling traffic on both northbound and southbound lanes.
A portion of Biak na Bato in Quezon City was also flooded.
The strong rains caused traffic jams along EDSA northbound, from Ayala Avenue to EDSA Shrine.
Weather bureau PAGASA said the rains were caused by a thunderstorm that affected Metro Manila, Bulacan, Rizal and parts of Batangas.
“All are advised to take precautionary measures against heavy rains, strong winds, lightning and possible flashfloods,” PAGASA said in its advisory. -- Reports from Jake Morales and Zandro Ochona, dzMM
