MANILA, Philippines- A fastfood chain was engulfed in a thick smoke after one of its air conditioning units caught fire Saturday morning in Quezon City.
Initial reports said the fire hit the KFC East Avenue branch at around 7 a.m.
The crew reportedly noticed the smoke that started to cloud the second floor of the store minutes before the scheduled opening.
The crew found out that the thick smoke was coming out from a burning air conditioning unit.
Reports said the crew tried but failed to put the blaze out by using a fire extinguisher.
The Quezon City Fire Department immediately responded and prevented the fire from further spreading.
