Transport leader passes away

MANILA, Philippines - Medardo “Ka Roda” Roda, a transport leader, has passed away last September 5 due to cardiac arrest.
He was the chairman emeritus of the Pagkakaisa ng mga Samahan ng Tsuper at Operator Nationwide (Piston).
A staunch fighter for the rights of the marginalized, Roda was charged with rebellion during the Marcos regime together with other well-known activists such as Kilusang Mayo Uno leader Crispin Beltran.
His remains lie in state at the St. Peters Memorial Chapel in Quezon Avenue.
